That's the deadline for the 2022 EverGreen Award nomination. 

Since 2009, we've been giving the EverGreen Award to GRC members who have dedicated themselves to advancing the green building industry and its practice and have found unique ways to convey the value of their knowledge to their communities and clients. 

Two GRC members talk green on “Drive With NAR” podcast.

As guests on the “Drive With NAR” podcast, two GRC members, Jan Green and Christopher Matos-Rogers, got the word out to a broad audience of REALTORS® about the value of having the NAR Green Designation.

Sure, in many markets, selling green and sustainability remains challenging. 
 
But you knew you were entering a long game when you got your NAR Green Designation, right?

Every year since the inception of RESNET’s (Residential Energy Services Network) Home Energy Rating System (HERS®) Index, the group has seen a rise in the number of homes with the HERS rating.

The group, which provides a miles-per-gallon-style score to rate the energy efficiency of homes, recorded its 3-millionth HERS Rated home last year.

Barbie Burke, GREEN, CRS SFR®, a Tempe, AZ REALTOR® and Associate Broker with Respect Realty, says it was natural for her to get the NAR Green Designation. She discovered her passion for green early in life while hiking the Grand Canyon and while working as a Yellowstone National Park tour guide during her college summers. She hopes to hike the entire Arizona Trail – all 800-plus miles – which starts in Nogales, AZ, and ends at the Utah-Arizona border.
