Although the Center for REALTOR® Technology Labs only opened its doors a few months ago, it already has covered an impressive amount of ground in advocating on behalf of REALTORS®.

Besides creating educational resources, CRT Labs partners with vendors, universities, and public-private agencies. It helps those groups understand NAR’s value and the direct path to consumers that its 1.1 million members bring, along with practitioners’ ability to educate those consumers. 

If you’re selling your house this spring, it’s good to have a sense of the big picture and to keep an on some of the consumer trends that real estate practitioners watch. 

Appraisals of high-performance properties sometimes feel fraught with danger. 

Is the appraiser competent? Does he or she understand why the property is unique? Are there enough comps for the appraiser to draw on? Have the HERS rating and other green certifications gotten into the hands of the appraiser or is that information buried in a file?
