How to Earn Your Green Designation
EARN YOUR GREEN DESIGNATION
The foundation of the Green designation is a two-day course which is offered online and in-person so you can learn at the pace that works with your busy schedule. Once you’ve completed the course, you’ll be a Green designee. Here’s how it works:
3 EASY STEPS TO EARN THE GREEN DESIGNATION

STEP 1. Successful completion of the two-day Green Designation Course: The Intersection of Real Estate & Sustainability
- Available online and taken at your own pace through the Center for REALTOR® Development for $310 ($620 for non-members).
NOVEMBER OFFER: Use code DAM2025 at checkout for 20% off the online course in November for NAR’s Designation Awareness Month. - Available in a live classroom setting through CRD-licensed course providers (includes live virtual option). Cost varies by provider. Search for courses near you.

STEP 2. Membership in good standing with the Center for REALTOR® Development.
New designees receive one year of membership free; the second year is prorated from the month of conferral. Annual dues each year thereafter are $98.50.

STEP 3. Maintaining active membership status with the National Association of REALTORS®.
- Have an active membership with NAR/state/local association.

What Happens Next?
- If you took the online course: Course completions will be processed and entered in our database weekly.
- If you took the classroom course: Course completion information will be entered once the course provider has submitted a class roster to us. This can take up to 2 weeks.
- Once we have logged your course completion, we will email you to notify you of your newly active Green designation.
